The Cooperative Academic Institute, supported by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, held the training session of “Enhancing the Capacity of Stakeholders to Improve the Tilapia Value Chain in Thailand Curriculum”, 4-7 July 2016, at KU Home Building Kasetsart University. There were 23 participants namely: 11 agriculturists, 1 Petchaburi Agricultural Cooperative limited’s representative, 8 officers from Department of Fisheries, and 3 officers from Lao’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry with Vice Prof. Dr. Nuchanart Mankong, Dean of Faculty of Economy Kasetsart University, as chair person.


There were also site visiting to enhance knowledge at Banghag community’s rafting fishery at Tambol Banghag, Amphur Pantong, Chonburi. Mr. Twai, the rafting fishery’s owner, discussed and exchange idea with the participants at Banghag Marine Cultivator community, Amphur Pantong, Chonburi, with Mr. Pornchai Buapradit, the community’s chair person, narrating the Tilapia raising experience and techniques. Then the participants visited the biggest Tilapia cultivation site of Eastern Thailand which has the excellent management model with the warm welcome from Mr. Prachaya Navatrilarp, the owner of Por Chareon Farm and his staffs.
